Chinese drone manufacturer DJI, has unveiled Manifold 2, an ultra-compact onboard supercomputer for DJI drones that enables the next-generation of autonomous aerial robotics solutions. With the additional compute capability of Manifold 2, users can process complex image data onboard the drone and get results immediately, and can program drones to fly autonomously while identifying objects and avoiding obstacles.

First Inflight Connectivity Provider To Announce A 5G Network For Aviation

Gogo has announced its plans to build a 5G network for aviation. The new air-to-ground (ATG) network will be designed for use on business aviation aircraft, commercial regional jets, and smaller mainline jets operating within the contiguous United States and Canada. The Association for Unmanned Vehicle Systems International (AUVSI) will welcome members of the Certified Remote Pilots Association of America (CRPAA), as the organization dissolves. Former CRPAA members will receive full AUVSI membership benefits for the remainder of 2019, with the option to renew their membership going forward.
