NBAA Approves Senate Passage of Controversial COVID-Relief Bill

Bill Will Now Go Back To The House Of Representatives

NBAA is applauding the United States Senate passage of the $1.9 trillion COVID-relief package which provides additional targeted relief for the aviation industry -- despite the fact that the bill is being extensively criticized for being packed with 'pork' and only dedicates a small percentage of the proceeds to actual COVID relief. The bill will now go back to the House of Representatives for final consideration and passage before being sent to President Biden.

Volocopter Raises $240M

Volocopter Expects First Commercial Air Taxi Routes To Open Within The Next Two Years

Volocopter announced the signing of their Series D funding round raising €200 million ($240M US) in additional capital. Cumulatively, Volocopter has raised €322 million. The funding will be used to bring the VoloCity, the battery-powered air taxi for cities, to certification and by accelerating the launch of its first commercial routes. Volocopter is in the final stages of providing new, sustainable mobility options for cities around the world. As The Airplane Descended Through 2,300 Ft, The Radar Target Disappeared

On February 7, 2021, about 1648 central standard time, a Cessna 441, N44776, was destroyed when it was involved in an accident near Belvidere, Tennessee. The airline transport pilot and a commercial pilot-rated passenger were fatally injured. The airplane was operated as a Title 14 Code of Federal Regulations Part 91 personal flight. According to preliminary radar and communications information obtained from the Federal Aviation Administration, the pilot took off from Thomasville Regional Airport (TVI), Thomasville, Georgia about 1527 with a destination of Winchester Municipal Airport (BGF), Winchester, Tennessee.

The FAA is adopting a new airworthiness directive (AD) for certain Safran Helicopter Engines, S.A.
