This year’s Women in Aviation Conference, the 25th such event, was to all appearances, well-attended, empowering, successful and even more diverse than the organization’s name suggests. The 10,000 member strong organization, under the direction of Dr. Peggy Chabrian, has grown from a handful of women attending an inaugural Arizona event 25 years ago to an international gathering (nearly 200 visitors from Nigeria, alone...) that attracts thousands of people (of both genders), annually. FAA Approves Sandel HeliTAWS For Multiple Airframes

Helicopter Terrain Awareness & Warning System Available For Installation Under Part 27 And Part 29 AML-STCs

The FAA has granted an Approved Model List (AML) Supplemental Type Certificates (STC) for Part 27 and Part 29 for Sandel Avionics' HeliTAWS. An AML-STC is similar to multi-model approval, with appropriate reuse of compliance data across TC data sheets. It allows models to be added, progressively, by updating the AML listing, provided similarity and differences are substantiated.
