Cites "Extraordinary Adverse Market" As Reason For Delay
It wasn't that long ago that American Airlines lobbied hard for
the Department of Transportation to award a lucrative route to
Beijing to the Fort Worth, TX-based carrier... but alas, that was
then, and this is now.
Ever-mindful of the political ramifications from doing business
with a country known to be a state sponsor of terrorism, last week
European Aeronautic Defense and Space Corp. (EADS) vehemently
denied its Airbus division was on the verge of announcing a
airplane deal with Syria.
The PR effort is on... big-time... at least if you happen to be
heading to the Republican Convention. People arriving at
Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport for this week's
Republican National Convention will reportedly 'receive a warm,
personal welcome from dozens of roving volunteers and festive red
and white decorations.'
Emirates First Middle East Carrier To Receive Two 777 Variants
On The Same Day
Boeing and Dubai-based airline Emirates celebrated the delivery
of a 777-300ER (Extended Range) and a 777-200LR (Longer Range)
Thursday, marking the first double 777 delivery to a Middle East
airline. Representatives from the Emirates and Boeing team are

Grupo Marsans, Spain's largest tourism and transport group, has
taken delivery of its first directly purchased Airbus A330-200
aircraft for its subsidiary Air Comet.
