GKN PLC Reportedly Interested In Boeing Plants (Again)

Wait just a minute. Didn't these guys already say, "Thanks, but no thanks"? It was back in May that we reported GKN PLC had walked away from a deal with Boeing to purchase the latter's plants in Oklahoma and Wichita (KS). Now, however, GKN is sniffing around at the deal again, according to published reports.

GOL Passes the 20 Million Passenger Milestone

GOL Linhas Aereas Inteligentes, Brazil's low-cost airline, passed the 20 million passenger milestone in August. Since the launch of operations in January 2001, the company says it's recorded continuous and increasing growth rates in both the number of passengers and aircraft efficiency. In 2002, GOL transported 4.8 million passengers, 232% more than in 2001 (2.1 million). Last year, 7.3 million passengers flew GOL and, in the first half of 2004, GOL has already transported 5.2 million passengers.

Lufthansa, Qantas Purchase E&S Sim Visual Systems

Evans & Sutherland Computer Corp. has announced that Lufthansa Flight Training has purchased an EP-1000CT visual system for the upgrade of its A310 full flight simulator in Berlin, and had  awarded a subcontract by CAE Inc. of Montreal to provide its EP(TM)-1000CT/ESCP(R)-2000 visual system for the A380 full-flight simulator being manufactured by CAE for Australia's Qantas Airways.
