XWB Set To Become "The Backbone" Of Cathay Pacific Airways'
Future Mid-Size Widebody Fleet
Cathay Pacific Airways announced Tuesday that it has selected
the A350 XWB to form the backbone of its future mid-size widebody
fleet, following the signature of a Letter of Intent (LOI) with
Airbus for the order of 30 aircraft.

A woman from southern California boarding a Delta flight in
Georgia July 19th said she was removed from the flight after
reporting she thought she and others smelled alcohol on the
captain's breath.

Boeing has boosted its estimate of the number of planes it
expects to sell in India by 15 percent over the next 20 years, the
manufacturer said Tuesday.

The "Airline Baggage Transparency and Accountability Act" would
establish rules to assist consumers to compare airfares and other
costs applicable to tickets for air transportation, and would
require airlines to pay taxes on such fees to fund modernization
and maintenance of the U.S. Air Transport System.
Eleven Passengers Fatally Injured When Plane Came Down Short Of
The Runway
A Russian commuter flight went down Tuesday about a half-mile
short of the runway at Igarka, a town in the Krasnoyarsk region of
Russia. Eleven of the fifteen people on board were fatally injured
in the crash.
