Scuffles Posed No Disruption To Flights, Passengers
Protestors taking part in the Camp for Climate Change on the
outskirts of London's Heathrow International Airport clashed with
British police Sunday during what has been a largely peaceful
demonstration.
Passenger Left Security Area Before Knife Identified
A security agent, apparently a bit slow on the draw Saturday,
missed a knife in a bag at a security checkpoint... and the
resultant scramble to locate it backed up international flights for
more than three hours.
A China Airlines 737-800 carrying 157 passengers caught fire
after landing at Naha airport in Okinawa, Japan early Monday. While
taxiing to the gate, the 737's right engine caught fire and flames
quickly spread.
As ANN reported, discontent
has grown since Dubai Aerospace Enterprise announced its intentions
to acquire over 50% of Auckland International Airport in New
Zealand. Investors favoring New Zealand ownership recently
bought enough shares to block the proposed acquisition.
American Airlines announced Friday it sued internet mega-search
provider Google, on the grounds of selling search words involving
the carrier's name. The lawsuit is the latest in a string of cases
brought by businesses; all argue Google's advertising system is
used unfairly by competitors to "steal" business.
