The contract for Low Cost Ground Surveillance at Reno, Nevada
Airport has gone to Northrop Grumman Corporation. The contract
included options for installation of the system at other airports
around the country.
As is so often the culprit, noise has been an issue for the
communities surrounding Bob Hope Airport in the San Fernando
valley, including Burbank. Late last week, the FAA notified the
Burbank-Glendale-Pasadena Airport Authority that its application
for a curfew was essentially complete, and that started the clock
on a 6 month review process.
The Palm Beach Sheriffs Office and FAA
authorities continue to investigate the death of a Federal Aviation
Administration employee who fell to his death Friday while working
on a tower at Palm Beach Airport.
