Subcontractor Issue Likely to Hamper 737 MAX Deliveries

For Want of Forward Momentum

Commercial aviation and aerospace titan Boeing announced that production and deliveries of its 737 MAX will be reduced in the near-term due to issues with parts supplied by longtime subcontractor Spirit AeroSystems. The news belies an 06 April announcement in which the plane-maker made public its plans to up 737 MAX production from 31 to 38 specimens monthly.

Boeing Offerings Provide Current-Gen Training for Carrier-Bound Pilots

Pan Am Flight Academy just obtained a new Level D B737 MAX-8 simulator to enhance its commercial pilot training offerings. The MAX-8 allows the school to provide up-to-date training with a "state-of-the-art simulator", and should be ready for student use by July. Like many of the simulators in Pan Am's collection, the Level D MAX-8 is equipped with all the needful to provide consistent, realistic, true-to-life pilot training for the same aircraft rolling off the Boeing assembly line.

The Federal Aviation Administration announced on Thursday, 13 April 2023 that it has referred 17 additional unruly passenger cases to the FBI for criminal prosecution review, thereby bringing the total number of such cases since 2021 to a worrying total of 250.
