Action Comes After Runway Over-Run Accident Following Uncontained Engine Failure

Volga-Dnepr Airlines has announced the temporary suspension of its An-124-100(-150) commercial operations as of November 25, 2020 until the investigation completion and identification of causes of aviation incident occurred in Tolmachevo airport (Novosibirsk). On the 13th of November 2020 soon after take off the airplane suffered the uncontained engine fan disk failure of series D-18T which resulted in engine failure and the loss of control systems. AD 2020-23-11 Requires Repetitive Inspections For Discrepancies Of Certain Areas In And Around The Fuselage

The FAA is adopting a new airworthiness directive (AD) for all Airbus SAS Model A300 series airplanes; and Airbus SAS Model A300 B4-600, B4-600R, and F4-600R series airplanes, and Airbus SAS Model A300 C4-605R Variant F airplanes (collectively called Model A300-600 series airplanes). This AD was prompted by reports of cracking at a certain hole location on the lefthand (LH) side of a certain frame (FR).
