The Canadian da Vinci Project Team has notified the ANSARI X
PRIZE of its intention to launch its rocket on October 2nd, 2004,
marking its official entry in the international,
commercially-funded space race competition.
Details are a bit sketchy at the moment, but ANN has learned
that Burt Rutan is going to get some real competition for their X
Prize attempt this September/October.
Who's challenging Burt? The Canadian daVinci
project, that's who.
The Canadian da Vinci Project Team, based in Toronto, Canada, made
the announcement during a public roll-out of its completed Wild
Fire spacecraft, Thursday, Aug 5th, 2004, at its Downsview Airport
hanger in Toronto.

Boeing-Rocketdyne crane operator Joe Ferrante lifts SSME 2058, the
first SSME fully assembled at KSC, with the assistance of other
technicians on his team.

Millions of people have viewed pictures from NASA's Spirit on
the Mars rovers home page and other Internet sites. Beginning
today, a more complete set of science data from Spirit's first 30
martian days is posted on a site primarily for scientists and
technical researchers, but also available to anyone who's
interested.
