The 75-year-old design is perhaps the most recognizable, and most copied, airplane that has ever graced the skies.
EAA President and CEO Rod Hightower met with the aviation media on the opening day of AirVenture Monday. He expressed a great deal of enthusiasm for the show this year, saying that the campgrounds and the North 40 were "filling up," and that the grounds are in the best shape than they have been in years in the early stages of the show.
