Two members of the space shuttle Endeavour crew are stepping
into space to give the International Space Station’s newest
robot a pair of arms. The crew got its wake up call at 2:28 p.m.,
Saturday, in the form of “We’re Going to be
Friends” by the White Stripes. The song was played for
Mission Specialist Robert L. Behnken.
Each year around this time, John Tripp walks across a lunar
surface, pondering the challenges ahead for explorers brave enough
to take on its cratered terrain. For now, his "moon" is a winding
ribbon of cement footpaths looped around Huntsville's famed U.S.
Space and Rocket Center, where Tripp is a construction foreman.
