Airborne 12.03.18: uAvionix skyBeacon, Nextant STC, Spitfire Watch

Despite being on the receiving of some bad behavior of the almighty Garmin juggernaut, uAvionix is sticking to its guns and proceeding with an aggressive rollout of some exciting avionics developments. And mind you, its just in time for the renewed FAA rebate. In order to get the rebate, you must select the skyBeacon you’ll need to set the data link option on the rebate form to UAT, and choose uAvionix skyBeacon TSO as the ADS-B transmitter. uAvionix says its shipping the skyBeacon after receiving the STC and credits the FAA’s Chicago ACO, “for their patience and guidance through this process.” The initial STC covers 272 aircraft.
