Airborne 11.05.18: Vulcanair Fleet Sale, Airport Bankrupt, Kepler Retired

Delaware State University (DSU) and Ameravia, Inc. have announced the acquisition, with a firm order, of ten (10) new Vulcanair V1.0 aircraft for the DSU aviation department flight training program with deliveries in late 2018 and the first half of 2019. DSU has chosen to invest $3.5 million dollars in the Aviation Program. Beginning in 2019 thru 2027, the  university intends to purchase at least one additional V1.0 training aircraft each year (for a total of up to 20 airplanes), to accommodate expansion of the Aviation Program. Goodbye Europe, Hello Moon: European Orion Module Ships Soon

Will Arrive In Florida On Tuesday, Nov 6

The European Service Module that will power and propel the Orion spacecraft on its first mission around the Moon will ship early next week from Bremen to the United States. It will take off in an Antonov An-124 aircraft in the early hours of 5 November and arrive at Kennedy Space Center in Florida on 6 November.

Launch Window Opens In 'Early November'

Payload preparations are advancing for Arianespace’s next launch from French Guiana: a Soyuz mission to orbit Metop-C, the third in a series of European satellites that is significantly enhancing weather forecasting.
