Frontier Airlines pilots, represented by the Air Line Pilots Association, Int’l (ALPA), announced they have reached an agreement in principle (AIP) on a collective bargaining agreement after more than two-and-a half-years of negotiations with management. This agreement must be reviewed and approved by the Frontier ALPA Master Executive Council (MEC), which will vote on whether to send it out to the pilot group for a full ratification vote.

Continental Motors Group, (CMG) an AVIC International Holding (HK) LTD company, has signed a fleet conversion agreement with Qingdao Jiutian International Flight School. This converts their current fleet of Cessna 172 aircraft equipped with gasoline engines, to Jet-A burning engines manufactured by Continental Motors. Furthermore, after receiving extensive technical training, Qingdao Jiutian International will become a Master Installation Center for CMG’s range of Jet-A engines, allowing the company to perform retrofits and engine maintenance in China.

When a natural disaster strikes, the Nueces County Emergency Operations Center only has a finite number of resources they can use to aid response efforts. To alleviate this issue, as well as improve disaster response and recovery efforts, the Lone Star UAS Center of Excellence and Innovation (LSUASC) at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi recently signed an interlocal agreement with Nueces County to provide drone support in the event of future natural disasters. Loyd Neal, county judge and emergency management director for Nueces County, signed the agreement on Oct. 31.

Avidyne has announced that German-based airplus Maintenance GmbH has received a Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) from the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) for installation of the Avidyne IFD5XX/4XX series of GPS-based flight management systems in 200-, 300- and 400-series Robin aircraft. This STC provides IFR LPV and LNAV + V approval for single- and dual-IFD installations in 40 different models and derivatives of the French-manufactured Robin range of aircraft.
