Airborne 10.06.16: Blue Origin Test, Red Bull!, Iran Rips Off Drone

Okay, we admit it, the whole crew at ANN are a bunch of space geeks. We watched the live video feed as Blue Origin tested the crew capsule escape system yesterday morning and cheered with the successful results of the test. The entire flight lasted about eight minutes. The launch was delayed by about 45 minutes as the Blue Origin team resolved some minor technical issues. The New Shepard booster lifted into the clear, blue Texas sky, and about 45 seconds into the flight the escape motor fired, separating the crew capsule from the booster. Will Spend A Year In Prison For Their Transgressions

A federal judge has sentenced Yujie Ding to a year and a day in prison for his role in defrauding NASA’s Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Program. U.S. District Court Judge Harvey Bartle III also ordered Ding to pay a fine of $3,000 and restitution of $72,000. Last week, Ding's co-defendant and wife, Yuliya Zotova, was sentenced to 3 months in prison, along with a fine and restitution.
