This is Aero TV's Daily Update on EAA AirVenture Oshkosh for
Tuesday, July 27th.
USA Today, which for whatever reason now has a standing policy
of talking down general aviation, was out on the second day of
Oshkosh 2010 with a cheap shot at EAA AirVenture. Tuesday's story
on page 3A appeared under a subhead that reads, "Air show in
Oshkosh, Wisconsin has history of fatal crashes. The writer, Alan
Levin, did acknowledge that the fatals to which he referred did not
involve the airshow at Oshkosh, and that most involved obvious
pilot mistakes, and many weren't even in the area.
The FAA announced Friday that Mexico is not in compliance with
international safety standards set by the International Civil
Aviation Organization (ICAO), following an assessment of the
country’s civil aviation authority.
Representatives of Superior Aviation, Beijing have announced
that aviation veteran Timothy T. (Tim) Archer has been appointed as
the CEO of Superior Aviation, Beijing and its wholly owned
subsidiary, U.S.-based Superior Air Parts, Inc.
Three On Board Fatally Injured, Crash Sparked A Small
Three people on board a C-123 cargo plane were fatally injured
Sunday when the aircraft went down in Alaska's Denali National
Park, sparking a small wildfire after the accident. The Fairchild
C-123 had been registered to All West Freight in Delta Junction,
AK, according to the National Park Service.
