Flight Design Parent Company In Receivership

Tough Times For Civil Aviation Know Few Boundaries

Following several months of concern over delayed shipments and orders from the parent company responsible for the Flight Design LSA and Sport Aircraft line, word has come confirming that the company is facing serious financial difficulties. Completely separate from the US operation (Flight Design USA), the German parent company (with operations in both Germany and Ukraine, utilizing over 100 people) is not out of business but will reportedly attempt to reorganize with the help of legal authorities in ways supposedly similar to a Chapter 11 filing in the USA.

Zenith’s Sebastian Heintz and Roger Dubbert Head to Canada to fly the SAM Aircraft

When the Zenith and Zenair companies join forces to acquire the SAM Aircraft and its production rights, the prototype aircraft ended up at the Zenair location in Midland, Ontario, Canada. It was decided that the Mexico, MO based Zenith guys needed to evaluate the new airplane, and Zenith owner, Sebastien Heintz tells the story on the Zenith Builder’s Blog.
