Military Provides Security, SAR Capability At The Cape
As Discovery was prepared for to lift off from Kennedy Space
Center Wednesday, North American Aerospace Defense Command and US
Northern Command were on duty, prepared to support the "Return to
Flight" mission.
The US Army has placed an order with BAE Systems for 31
additional portable combat helicopter refueling systems for a total
value of $7.6 million. This order is part of a multi-year contract
expected to be worth more than $100 million.
