Australia's first F-35A pilot, Squadron Leader Andrew Jackson, [AEST] took his first flight in an F-35A aircraft at Eglin Air Force Base, Florida, United States recently.
Aircraft Was Significantly Damaged During Training In 2012
In April 2012, during a training sortie, an RAF Chinook was very significantly damaged in a heavy landing. The damage sustained was such that the aircraft could well have been classified as Beyond Economical Repair (BER). However, it was decided that recovering the aircraft to service was a viable option by drawing on the extensive experience and expertise in Chinook heavy maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) vested in Boeing and Vector Aerospace.
Provides Additional Five Years Of Integrated Operational Support For UK MoD’s AW101 Merlin Fleet
Finmeccanica – AgustaWestland has signed a contract with the UK Ministry of Defence (MoD) covering the third five year period of the 25-year Integrated Merlin Operational Support (IMOS) contract. The contract provides a comprehensive availability based support package for the UK MoD's fleet of AW101 Merlin helicopters for the period 1st April 2015 to 31st March 2020.
First Time Massive Boeing Bomber Will Be On The Ground Display During Fly-In
The Boeing B-52H Stratofortress bomber, which for more than 50 years has been the backbone of the U.S. Air Force bomber fleet, will be a prime attraction at this year’s EAA AirVenture Oshkosh fly-in. The 63rd annual Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) convention, which annually draws 10,000 airplanes and total attendance of 500,000, is July 20-26 at Wittman Regional Airport in Oshkosh.
