Joint Statement Does Not Play Favorites Between
Competitors
The leaders of the House Armed Services Committee and the
panel’s Seapower and Projection Forces Subcommittee issued a
joint statement Thursday in response to the Department of
Defense’s announcement that it has selected a provider for
the KC-X Aerial Refueling Tanker.
Company Says Review Of The Decision Will Take "Some Time"
EADS North America officials predictably expressed
disappointment and concern over the announcement by the U.S. Air
Force that it had selected what they say is a high-risk, concept
aircraft over their proposed KC-45 for the nation’s next
aerial refueling tanker.

The International Association of Machinists and Aerospace
Workers (IAM) praised the Department of Defense’s decision to
award the Boeing Company with a contract to build a new fleet of
air-to-air refueling tankers for the U.S. Air Force.
