Daedalian Colonel Gail S. “Hal” Halvorsen, also known as the Berlin Candy Bomber, recently celebrated his 100th birthday. Not only that, he has been nominated for the Presidential Medal of Freedom. A White House petition was started to bolster the case for Colonel Halvorsen to be awarded the medal. Skyfront Unveils Control Handoff During First Submarine Drone Delivery

'A Quick And Cost-Effective Way To Resupply Submarines At Sea'

The long-endurance hybrid-electric Skyfront Perimeter drone was recently used to perform the first ship-to-submarine delivery via small unmanned aircraft. During the historic flight, the Perimeter took off from a moving surface vessel and delivered supplies to the crew of the ballistic missile submarine, in a quick and cost-effective way to resupply submarines at sea. The flight unveiled Skyfront’s command and control handoff capability. During the flight, pilots aboard the surface vessel launched the drone and flew it near the submarine. Once there, pilots aboard the submarine took control of the drone and released the package onto the top of the sub.

USS William P. Lawrence, Helo Maritime Strike Squadron 37 Save Lives in Honduras

Supported 10 Missions Aiding In The Rescue Of Citizens, And Delivered 10,500 Pounds Of Supplies

The Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS William P. Lawrence (DDG 110) and the embarked “Easyriders” of Helicopter Maritime Strike Squadron (HSM) 37 Detachment 7 completed search and rescue (SAR) operations in the areas affected by Hurricane Eta, Nov. 15. In coordination with Joint Task Force-Bravo (JTF-Bravo) and the government of Honduras, the William P. Lawrence and HSM-37 Detachment 7, supported 10 missions aiding in the rescue of citizens, and delivered 10,500 pounds of supplies.
