One Landed Safely, Wreckage Spotted Near Collision Site
Two U.S. Air Force F-16's reportedly collided over the Atlantic
Ocean during a nighttime training mission about 40 miles off the
coast of South Carolina Thursday night. One of the aircraft was
able to land safely Charleston Air Force Base. Wreckage and an oil
slick have been sighted in the water near where the accident
occurred.
The South African Air Force (SAAF) has contracted Pilatus to
integrate an avionics upgrade on 35 of their Pilatus Astra PC-7
MkII fleet. The upgrade will involve removing the obsolete
avionics from the fleet, replacing them with new modern
“glass cockpit” components.

The FAA recently denied the Collings Foundation's request for
flight exemptions for the F-4 Phantom, A-4 Skyhawk, Me-262
replica, and Fieseler Co. Fi-156 Storch. The exemptions are
required for the foundation to accept donations for flight
experiences in these historic aircraft.
