Breaking News: F-16's Collide In Nighttime Training Incident Off South Carolina

One Landed Safely, Wreckage Spotted Near Collision Site

Two U.S. Air Force F-16's reportedly collided over the Atlantic Ocean during a nighttime training mission about 40 miles off the coast of South Carolina Thursday night. One of the aircraft was able to land safely Charleston Air Force Base. Wreckage and an oil slick have been sighted in the water near where the accident occurred.

The South African Air Force (SAAF) has contracted Pilatus to integrate an avionics upgrade on 35 of their Pilatus Astra PC-7 MkII fleet. The upgrade will involve removing the obsolete avionics from the fleet, replacing them with new modern “glass cockpit” components.
