30-Year Veteran Took First Photos Of Cuban Missile Sites In
1962 Crisis
Richard Stephen Heyser, a retired US Air Force Lieutenant
Colonel and U-2 spy plane pilot who took the first reconnaissance
photos of secret missile launch sites during the 1962 Cuban missile
crisis, died October 6 at a nursing home in Port St. Joe, FL.
Bell Helicopter announced Friday the US Navy has exercised an
option under its contract with Bell to purchase Lot 5 of the H-1
Upgrade Program, an award worth $210 million.
Boeing was recently awarded the initial phase of a new
three-year US Air Force contract to continue the C-17 Globemaster
III Sustainment Partnership (GSP) program following a decade of
comprehensive logistics support of C-17 fleets around the
