First Four Airplanes To Arrive In Country Later This Month
The first four A-29 Super Tucano airplanes are set to be delivered to Afghanistan later this month. The planes are among 20 that were ordered under a contract awarded in 2013.
Enhanced Weapons Bay Launchers Can Be Transferred Between Aircraft
Six of the U.S. Air Force’s B-52 bombers can now take flight with a greater variety of weapons, thanks to enhanced internal weapons bay launchers delivered by Boeing. The upgraded launchers allow the B-52 to carry GPS-guided or “smart” weapons in the weapons bay for the first time and are ready for use.
After more than 40 years of service, the last S-3B Viking in U.S. Navy service launched one last time from the runway at Naval Base Ventura County, Point Mugu, California, on Jan. 11.
