USAF Test Demonstrates Near-Orbit Networking Capability
Boeing and the US Air Force have demonstrated for the first time
how -- with advanced airborne networking and information management
technology -- a near-space vehicle can be used as a flexible,
low-cost, theater-wide information broker that provides real-time
tactical information to ground forces enhancing their effectiveness
and survivability.
New Carrier Class Honors Former Sailor And US President
Secretary of the Navy Donald C. Winter announced Tuesday
the selection of USS Gerald R. Ford as the name of the first
aircraft carrier in what will be the Gerald R. Ford class of
carriers.
The United States is one step closer to introducing an important
new tool for the protection of its borders and the monitoring of
international waters, with the arrival of the first EADS CASA
HC-144A maritime patrol and surveillance aircraft at the US Coast
Guard aviation facility in North Carolina.
