NTSB Prelim: Piper PA-24-250

...Airplane Impacted Power Lines. The Power Lines Were About 95 Ft Above Ground Level

On August 13, 2023, at about 1250 central daylight time, a Piper PA-24-250, N7910P, was substantially damaged when it was involved in an accident near Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The pilot was seriously injured. The airplane was operated as a Title 14 Code of Federal Regulations Part 91 personal flight. Automatic Dependent Surveillance – Broadcast (ADS-B) data revealed that the airplane departed North Texas Regional/Perrin Field (GYI) Sherman, Texas, at 1204 and proceeded to Wiley Post Airport (PWA) Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Commemorative Aircraft Shines a Light on Bearcat Operational Costs

An F8F Bearcat operated by the Commemorative Air Force will be needing a bit of love, with the aircraft prepped and ready to go on its way to a full restoration to airworthy condition. The Commemorative Air Force acquired the Bearcat in 1991 in Chino, California, where it had been sitting for years. After purchase and an initial bit of work, the SoCal Wing's Bearcat has been a mainstay at airshows all over the country. Now, after 3 decades of continued service, the Bearcat is getting a full restoration.
