Electronic Standby Instrument System Designed For Part 23 Airplanes, Part 27 Helicopters
L-3 Aviation Products (L-3 AP) has introduced its next- generation Electronic Standby Instrument (ESI), the GENESIS ESI-500. The standby unit is designed specifically for Class I, II and III Part 23 aircraft and Part 27 helicopters. It features a three-inch display that incorporates synthetic vision (SynVis), obstacles, terrain alerting and navigation.
There are so many questions to be answered as this accident is investigated, including why there were five people aboard an airplane that only has seats for four.
