AOPA Kills Off Future 'Aviation Summits' ...WILL Hold 2013 Summit In TX

Organization Will Instead Put "New Focus" On Grassroots Events In 2014

Original Story Posted 1600 ET, 09.10.13: Color us surprised... really. AOPA is reporting that it has decided to suspend its annual Aviation Summits in favor of reaching more members "where they fly." Mind you; the Aviation Summit in Fort Worth, TX, from Oct. 10 through 12, 2013 will be held as planned and is shaping up to be one of the best ever. We are on track for thousands of members to join us and the exhibit hall is nearly sold out, with new exhibitors still signing up. But... convention plans for 2014 have been cancelled.

Avionics Industry Appears On Pace To Outperform 2012

During our wall-to-wall coverage of AEA2013, the annual Aircraft Electronics Association Convention and Trade Show, we were pleased to help introduce a massive new initiative on the part of this uncommonly progressive (and aggressive) industry organization. The AEA first introduced its Avionics Market Report March 26, 2013, during the 56th annual AEA International Convention & Trade Show in Las Vegas, NV. During the event's Opening Ceremonies, the association reported the total year-end international avionics sales for 2012 amounted to $6,279,317,197.54, or nearly $6.3 billion.

Court Had Ordered Payment By Last Friday

Avcorp Industries, Inc. reports that it has entered into a settlement agreement with the Cessna Aircraft Company (Cessna) which settles all outstanding litigation between the Company and Cessna. The settlement requires payment by Cessna of $27,964,513 in satisfaction of the judgment entered against Cessna from an arbitration award made on November 16, 2012.
