Experimenter Beats Sikorsky To Electric Helo Milestone
A private experimenter working in
France took on an assignment from a French company called Solution
F to design, build and fly the world's first untethered electric
helicopter, (pictured in Gizmag photo, above) and got the whole
thing done in about 12 months. Pascal Chretien's first flight
reached a height of about one meter during a flight lasting two
minutes, ten seconds.

TBM 700 Went Down Monday In A Wisconsin Bean Field Near
Houses
Officials at a news conference held Tuesday in Mount Pleasant,
Wisconsin, said the 76-year-old pilot of a TBM 700 "acted
heroically" in steering his airplane away from several houses
before crashing in a bean field Monday. The pilot, Phillip Pines,
was fatally injured in the accident.
