NextGen GA Fund Boss, Michael Dyment reports that the GA community seems to finally be taking the pending ADS-B 2020 mandate seriously. In conversation with ANN, Dyment reported that the firm positions taken by FAA Administrator Michael Huerta and the downward pricing pressures instigated by NGGAF's massive ADS-B product buy from L-3 (as well as other programs) has convinced GA pilots that upgrading to ADS-B is far more affordable than what was originally portrayed by some of the industry leadership.

Garmin has announced new ADS-B display compatibilities with select G1000 Integrated Flight Decks, GMX 200/MX 20 multi-function displays (MFDs) and third-party displays using the GDL 88 ADS-B datalink and a publicly available protocol. Through this new compatibility, customers can receive and display select ADS-B In traffic and weather benefits while Connext provides wireless access to complete display benefits on a mobile device using Garmin Pilot, as well as the aera 796/795 aviation portable.

Chris D'Acosta CEO held a joint news conference at AirVenture to elaborate on Swift Fuels most recent activities. D'Acosta discussed their 94 MON (Motor Octane Number) unleaded fuel that is FAA Certified and ASTM certified. D'Acosta noted it is an all hydrocarbon aviation fuel and it not a replacement for 100LL but a fuel to serve the lower octane rated engines (primarily 91 octane or lower).
