Southern Illinois University Operating New Flight Training Devices

Cessna 172, CRJ-200 Sims Purchased From Frasca International

Southern Illinois University (SIU) in Carbondale has taken delivery of three new Flight Training Devices (FTDs) from Frasca International. The new FTDs include two Cessna 172R FTDs and a CRJ-200 Level 5 FTD. SIU also had their their existing Frasca 172R FTD upgraded to have the same features as the two new 172R devices.

Sonar data recorded last summer by the research vessel Niku VII being operated by The International Group for Historic Aircraft Recovery (TIGHAR) may point to the remains of Amelia Earhart's Lockheed Electra on the bottom of the ocean near Gardner Island, which is now known as Nikumaroro.
