FAA: MedXPress Allows Pilots to Track Medical Applications in Real-Time

Track The Status Of Your Medical Certificates Online

The FAA has added a new feature to MedXPress that allows pilots to track the status of their medical certificates online throughout the application and review process. Prior to adding this new feature, pilots had to call the Office of Aerospace Medicine to check their application status. Heretofore; the FAA MedXPress system allowed anyone requesting an FAA Medical Clearance or Medical Certificate to electronically complete an application.

On March 25, 2022, about 1127 central daylight time, a Robinson R44 helicopter was destroyed when it was involved in an accident near Rowlett, Texas. The certified flight instructor (CFI) and student pilot sustained fatal injuries. The helicopter was operated as a Title 14 Code of Federal Regulations Part 91 training flight. According to the operator, the flight was the second of the day for the CFI and student pilot. The first flight (lesson 10 of the training syllabus) was completed successfully.
