Shades of USA Today?

 A Cincinatti TV news reporter is apparently just getting around to reading his November 3rd edition of USA Today. Brendan Keefe of WCPO, Channel 9, followed the GA Bashing parade Friday for reporting what in reality is a repeat attack on general aviation, using many of the same misleading, airline-industry talking points featured in the notorious USA Today article.

Wrongly-Jailed Pilot To Sue Australian Government

Spent Nearly 1000 Days In Prison For A Crime He Did Not Commit

60-year-old Frederick Martens was tried and convicted by an Australian court for the 2001 sexual assault of a 14 year-old girl in Papua New Guinea. Last week, a court of appeals in Queensland, Australia set aside that conviction, finding there was insufficient evidence to support the charges of child sex tourism.

Nevada Airport Waiting To Re-Open

FAA Survey Is The Last Hurdle

 Carson City, Nevada is ready to open its newly-constructed eastern runway, and is only waiting for the completion of an FAA survey before putting the airport back in use. The airport closed November 9th for the runway construction, which Carson City officials said was the city's biggest stimulus project at $9.6 million.

Lancair Down In Watsonville, CA

58-Year-Old Pilot Killed When Engine Reportedly Siezed

A 58-year-old attorney from Atherton, California, was killed when the Lancair Legacy he was flying apparently suffered an engine failure and went down Saturday afternoon near Watsonville. The pilot, Gary Lampert, was the only person on board.
