GAMA Will Announce Last Year's Aircraft Shipment And Billing Numbers

The General Aviation Manufacturers Association (GAMA) is set to host its annual State of the Industry Press Conference on February 23, 2022. The conference is an annual event to review the previous year's goings on in the industry. 2022 is looking to be on an upward trajectory, as seen in some metrics. Shell Releases Carbon Neutral 100LL Avgas

Regular 100LL, But With Support for Shell's Green Projects

Shell's Aviation brand has delivered the first truckload of its new aviation fuel product, Carbon Neutral 100LL Avgas. Shipped to large distributor Avfuel, Shell hopes it will be the first of many, soon to be available at select FBO sites across the U.S. Avfuel purchased the 7,000-gallon payload with carbon credits, offsetting 75 metric tons of CO2 emissions. Avfuel Announces 2021 Scholarship Winners

2022 Scholarship to Open in Spring

Avfuel Corporation released the names of the 4 winners of its 2021 shcolarships, announcing that Kenneth Evers, recipient of the AVTRIP Scholarship, would use the $2,000 to become a flight instructor. The other 3 received the Pilot-in-Training Scholarship, each obtaining up to $1,500 for flight training. Emily Castellucci, Griffin Schaffer and Aaron Slatton can each pursue educational improvements and enhancements in the field of aviation. This year marked the 23rd year since the scholarship’s inception, and the 4th since Avfuel expanded the program with additional positions. Applications for the 2022 round will be accepted on the site sometime this spring.

NTSB Prelim: Cessna T310R

Debris Was Consistent With A Nearly Wings Level, Nose Down, High Speed Impact

On November 21, 2021, about 1920 mountain standard time, a Cessna T310R, N310JA, was destroyed when it was involved in an accident near Chadron, Nebraska. The private pilot and 2 passengers sustained fatal injuries. The personal flight was conducted under the provisions of Title 14 Code of Federal Regulations Part 91. The airplane landed at the Chadron Municipal Airport (CDR), dropped off a passenger, and refueled. About 40 minutes later, the airplane departed from runway 30 at CDR in dark night, visual meteorological conditions.
