ANN is having a BLAST at the MidWest LSA Expo in Mt. Vernon, IL. While low ceilings around the airport hampered or delayed a few folks from getting to the field, most of them had made it by the end of the day -- paving the way for the good weather currently forecast for Friday and Saturday. ANN's Daily Aero-Term (09.17.23): Mach Technique [ICAO]

Mach Technique Describes a control technique used by air traffic control whereby turbojet aircraft operating successively along suitable routes are cleared to maintain appropriate MACH numbers for a relevant portion of the en route phase of flight. The principle objective is to achieve improved utilization of the airspace and to ensure that separation between successive aircraft does not decrease below the established minima.
