Award Honors Controllers For Outstanding Efforts To Improve Air Traffic Control Quality, Safety Or Efficiency
Raytheon Company has selected Jim Ullmann, the National Air Traffic Controllers Association's Director of Safety and Technology, as the 2019 Air Traffic Controller of the Year. Established by Raytheon, the award honors controllers for outstanding efforts to improve air traffic control quality, safety or efficiency. The announcement was made during the annual NATCA Communicating for Safety conference, which took place Sept. 16-18.

The Great State of Maine Air Show Presented by Bill Dodge will return to Brunswick Airport on August 15th and 16th, 2020. The Blue Angels, the U.S. Navy's elite jet team, is scheduled to headline the show.

Hover Taxi
Used to describe a helicopter/VTOL aircraft movement conducted above the surface and in ground effect at airspeeds less than approximately 20 knots. The actual height may vary, and some helicopters may require hover taxi above 25 feet AGL to reduce ground effect turbulence or provide clearance for cargo slingloads.
