Ya had to see it to believe it... An ingenious Latvian UAS operation has pulled off an exercise in which a skydiver used one of their massive 28 rotor multi-copters to make an eye-popping skydive. On May 12, a 28-propeller drone built by Aerones lifted skydiver, Ingus Augstkalns, to a height of nearly 1100 feet, from where he accomplished the planned jump. Qualcomm’s drone and robotics technologies reduce the on-board computing footprint while offering robust connectivity, advanced processing power and longer battery life. The company demonstrated two of its more recent developments at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas earlier this year. Coupled Approach An instrument approach performed by the aircraft autopilot, and/or visually depicted on the flight director, which is receiving position information and/or steering commands from onboard navigational equipment. In general, coupled non-precision approaches must be flown manually (autopilot disengaged) at altitudes lower than 50 feet AGL below the minimum descent altitude, and coupled precision approaches must be flown manually (autopilot disengaged) below 50 feet AGL unless authorized to conduct autoland operations. Coupled instrument approaches are commonly flown to the allowable IFR weather minima established by the operator or PIC, or flown VFR for training and safety.
