Aleutian Low
A semi-permanent, subpolar area of low pressure located in the Gulf of Alaska near the Aleutian Islands. It is a generating area for storms and migratory lows often reach maximum instensity in this area. It is most active during the late fall to late spring. During the summer, it is weaker, retreating towards the North Pole and becoming almost nonexistent. During this time, the North Pacific High pressure system dominates.

Welcome to the home of the Houston Hang Gliding & Paragliding Association (HHPA). Our organization consists of over thirty members sharing a common passion for human flight in its purest form. While we are primarily dedicated to enabling and promoting free flight in southeast Texas, our members come from regions as diverse as San Antonio, Austin, Waco, and Dallas in addition to Houston. Weather permitting, we fly nearly every weekend, year-round.
