Drones Are A New But Valuable Tool In Hurricane Response And Recovery Efforts

New Study By Freedonia Group Highlights Versatility

"Hurricane Harvey is the first major catastrophe in which drones have been used on a large scale by both government and commercial operators," according to Ken Long, an analyst at the Freedonia Group.  They are also likely to find widespread use if Hurricane Irma either directly strikes or skirts the east coast of Florida early next week, as current projections show.

Survey Of Risk Managers Highlights Rapidly Growing And Evolving Drones Market

When it comes to commercial drones usage, 61% of risk managers are concerned about the potential for invasion of privacy, according to a 2017 survey conducted by Munich Reinsurance America, Inc. (Munich Re, US). Other concerns include inadequate insurance (15%), personal injury (15%) and property damage (9%).
