Avionics Industry Appears On Pace To Outperform 2012

During our wall-to-wall coverage of AEA2013, the annual Aircraft Electronics Association Convention and Trade Show, we were pleased to help introduce a massive new initiative on the part of this uncommonly progressive (and aggressive) industry organization. The AEA first introduced its Avionics Market Report March 26, 2013, during the 56th annual AEA International Convention & Trade Show in Las Vegas, NV. During the event's Opening Ceremonies, the association reported the total year-end international avionics sales for 2012 amounted to $6,279,317,197.54, or nearly $6.3 billion.

China's Ministry Of Transport Grows SAR Fleet

Contracts Signed With Sikorsky For Eight S-76D Helicopters

China's Ministry of Transport's (MOT) Rescue and Salvage Bureau recently signed contracts for a total of eight Sikorsky S-76D search and rescue (SAR) helicopters to further enhance  the MOT's maritime SAR capabilities. In July 2013, the MOT contracted for four additional S-76D SAR helicopters, following the purchase of four of the same aircraft model in December 2012.

AgustaWestland Signs Distributor Agreement For Civil Helicopters In China

Order For 20 Helicopters Included In The Package

AgustaWestland has appointed Sino-US of China as an official non-exclusive distributor for AgustaWestland civil helicopters in China, excluding Hong Kong and Macau. The relevant distributorship agreement was signed during an official ceremony held at China Helicopter International Exhibition in Tianjin Thursday and includes orders for twenty helicopters.

AgustaWestland and Mitsui Bussan Aerospace are pleased to announce that Japan's leading newspaper ‘The Asahi Shimbun' has placed an order for one AW169 helicopter. This aircraft, which will join a GrandNew light twin helicopter already in service with the same customer, will be used to perform Press and Electronic News Gathering (ENG) missions in Japan.
