Bell Textron continued its run of LE and government contracts with the sale of 2 Bell 407GXi helicopters to Volusia County Sheriff’s Aviation Unit, bringing their total to 5 of the type among its multimission special ops fleet. The Sheriff’s Aviation Unit, as so many do once they attain a critical fleet mass, have imbued their unit with the moniker “Air One”, operating out of DeLand Municipal Airport in Orlando, Florida. Their mission sees constant duty, 24/7/365 as they stay ready to support the agency’s mission throughout the Volusia area.
