Early Step Towards STC For Three-Display Flight Deck
Hawker Beechcraft Global Customer Support (GCS) said in a news
release Monday that its Rockwell Collins Integrated Display System
(IDS) flight deck upgrade for the Beechcraft 1900D has completed
its first flight. This upgrade removes the factory installed Pro
Line II EFIS 84 system, as well as other analog instrumentation,
and replaces it with the fully integrated three-display Pro Line 21
IDS.

The NBAA announced Monday that the legendary pilot and
entrepreneur Clay Lacy will receive the 2011 NBAA Meritorious
Service to Aviation Award, and international business aviation
pioneer Don Spruston will receive the 2011 NBAA John P.
“Jack” Doswell Award.
High Winds Caused Airship To Break Loose From Moorings In
Ohio
High winds which tore through the Midwest over the weekend
caused the Hangar 1 Vodka airship to break loose from its moorings,
and the blimp went on a short, unscheduled, and unmanned
flight in central Ohio.The Associated Press reports that the
airship was moored at Don Scott Airfield on the Ohio State campus
when the winds caused it to break loose.
