UAVOS Joins HAPS Alliance

Evolving The High-Altitude Unmanned Platforms Technology Market

UAVOS has joined the High Altitude Platform Station (HAPS) industry Alliance with some of the world’s leading companies to promote the use of high-altitude solar-powered autonomous aircraft for facilitating global research missions, communication, connectivity, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance from the stratosphere. UAVOS has joined the HAPS Alliance to collaborate with member companies towards accelerating the development and adoption of HAPS technology into the evolution of the high altitude unmanned platforms market. UAVOS’s HAPS knowledge is based on test flights for more than 1000 hours of HAPS flight tests at altitudes of up to 66,000 ft.

20 Representatives Appointed

SecTrans Elaine Chao has appointed 20 representatives to the Youth Access to American Jobs in Aviation Task Force (YIATF). The objective of YIATF is to encourage high school students to pursue in-demand careers in aviation. Dr. Sharon DeVivo, President of Vaughn College of Aeronautics and Technology, will serve as chair of the task force. “This task force will help identify and develop pathways to encourage a diversity of young people to enter the exciting aviation sector of the future,” said U.S. Secretary of Transportation Elaine Chao.

A Witness Reported Observing White Smoking Coming From The Cockpit Prior To Impact

On July 10, 2020, about 1102 mountain daylight time, a Schweizer Grumman G-164B airplane, N6917K, was destroyed when it was involved in an accident near Springfield, Colorado. The commercial pilot sustained fatal injuries and succumbed from his injuries on July 14, 2020. The airplane was operated as a Title 14 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) Part 137 aerial application flight. The pilot was enroute to Two Buttes, Colorado to perform a low-level aerial application flight in a rural area after departing from the Springfield Municipal Airport (8V7), Springfield, Colorado.
