Kopter SH09 Helicopter Test Flight Program Resumes

Flight Testing Taking Place To Assess New Main Rotor Configuration

Leonardo has announced that the flight test activities of the third prototype of the SH09 single-engine helicopter (designated P3) have restarted in Pozzallo, Sicily, in Italy last week. The Kopter flight test & prototype maintenance teams arrived in Pozzallo earlier this month to prepare P3 and perform all necessary technical checks to resume the flight tests that had been halted since the 10th of March due to the Covid-19 situation. The new flight testing activities are to further assess the benefits provided by the new main rotor configuration.

DDC's Sparrow Drone To Deliver Healthcare Related Cargo

Will Be Working With Canadian Arm Of Transport And Logistics Company

With help from Air Canada, Drone Delivery Canada (DDC) has entered into a commercial agreement with DSV Air & Sea Inc. Canada (DSV), the Canadian arm of the global transport and logistics company DSV Panalpina A/S. Through the agreement, DSV will use DDC's Sparrow cargo drone to deliver healthcare related cargo from its warehouse in Milton, Ontario to DSV customers locally. “We are currently flying hundreds of successful flights per month at DSV for their first route, and we are pleased to announce a second paid route with DSV,” says Michael Zahra, president & CEO of DDC.

AD 2020-13-02 Prompted By Findings From A Preliminary Investigation Of A Model AW119 MKII Helicopter Accident

The FAA is adopting a new airworthiness directive (AD) for certain Leonardo S.p.A. Model A119 and AW119 MKII helicopters. This AD requires inspecting for movement and the tightening torque of the tail rotor (T/R) plug, the installation of the outboard and inboard faces of the T/R duplex bearing, and the condition of the T/R plug threads, nut threads, and T/R duplex bearing. Depending on the inspection results, this AD requires removing parts from service, reassembling the T/R duplex assembly, and reporting information.
