Flight Deck Upgrade Integrates IS&S Panels and Helios FMS
Avidyne has announced a new Integrated Flight Deck for turbine helicopters, the Helix. The new system is a joint system that combine's IS&S’s 10.4-inch flat-panel displays with Avidyne’s Helios Flight Management Systems to deliver a single, easy package to operators looking to modernize legacy helicopters. The Helix upgrade provides all the usual fully modernized avionics capabilities, like large-format flat panel displays, 3D Synthetic Vision, electronic charts, ADS-B weather and traffic, and SBAS/LPV capability.
New Zealand Operator Nabs Initial Units of Upscale, Soundproofed Helicopters
Bell Textron announced the delivery of the first Bell 429 helicopters containing the new Designer Series interior. The aircraft were tendered to Advanced Flight, a helicopter charter and management company in New Zealand. With the new additions, Advanced Flight will operate three VIP configured Bell 429s in its fleet.
