Textron Obtains Special Airworthiness Cert for Aerosonde Development

Small, High Endurance Drone to Begin Operations at Virginia Center

Textron has been issued a special airworthiness certificate from the FAA to conduct Aerosonde drone operations at its Unmanned Systems Service and Support Center located in Blackstone, Virginia. The Aerosonde is a small, high endurance, expeditionary drone powered by a fueled, reciprocating engine. The company received the special airworthiness certificate in the experimental category (SAC-EC), giving authority for Textron Systems to operate its Aerosonde MK 4.7G unmanned aircraft system within the National Airspace System.

NBAA Sees Strong Attendance at Leadership Conference

Theme of "Dynamic Excellence” Honed Business Stakeholders with Sessions, Speakers

The National Business Aviation Association’s (NBAA) saw record attendance at its 2023 Leadership Conference, with nearly 500 attendees present. The Conference allows members of the industry to come together and network while laying the groundwork for collaboration on industry efforts. This year, speakers included championship NASCAR driver Brad Keselowski, author and consultant Todd Henry, and Dr. Sian Proctor, and the first black woman to pilot a spacecraft.
