The FAA Is Granting The Requested Relief To NATA Members And Other Part 135 Air Carriers And Operators
NATA has notified the aviation community of its having been granted COVID-related relief deadlines extensions for proficiency and competency checks and completion of crew training. The Association worked to secure a vital exemption, FAA Exemption No. 18685, extending the timeframe for a check airman to conduct a proficiency or competency check under the observation of an FAA inspector or an aircrew designated examiner from 24 to 36 months. “These exemptions highlight NATA’s ongoing work with the FAA and the industry to ensure the continued ability for our members to safely operate throughout the public health crisis,” stated NAT
Adds FlightSafety’s Missionfit To Its Pilatus PC-12NG Training Program
FlightSafety has been selected by the Royal Flying Doctor Service of Australia Central Operations to provide a MissionFit Flight Training Device for use in its Pilatus PC-12NG pilot training program. The MissionFit FTD is scheduled to enter service in July 2021 at the Royal Flying Doctor Service Central Operations in Adelaide. Due to its portability and ease of installation, the device may also be used for training at the organization’s Alice Springs facility or at other locations.
Hermes 900 StarLiner RPAS Is A New Addition To The Transport Canada National Aerial Surveillance Program
In order for Transport Canada to continue effectively delivering its National Aerial Surveillance Program, it is important that the department has the equipment it needs to keep Canadian waters safe, and to monitor pollution. Anita Anand, Minister of Public Services and Procurement, and the Minister of Transport, Marc Garneau, announced the Government of Canada has awarded a $36.16–million contract to Elbit Systems Ltd. for the acquisition of a remotely piloted aircraft system (RPAS) or drone.
Delivery Of 1st Helicopter Is Scheduled For Early 2022
Airbus Helicopters and ÖAMTC Air Rescue have signed a firm contract for the purchase of five H135s. The delivery of the first helicopter of this contract is scheduled for early 2022. "Our demanding missions require the most modern helicopters available for enhancing our capability for critical missions, e.g. during the night. We have been operating the H135 for more than 20 years, and we look forward to benefiting from the advantages that the Helionix version brings,” said Reinhard Kraxner, CEO at ÖAMTC Air Rescue.
