Configured For Emergency Services, SAR, And Law Enforcement Missions
Two Bell 429s helicopters configured for Helicopter Emergency Services (HEMS), Search and Rescue (SAR) and Airborne Law Enforcement (ALE) have been delivered to the Delaware State Police aviation section. The company says milestone aircraft are the first of the model so configured, and they will join the Delaware State Police’s current fleet of Bell helicopters and be used throughout the state for a variety of parapublic missions with a strong focus on EMS.
Says Crash Caused By Flight Into Bad Weather, Department’s 'Punitive Culture'
The NTSB has determined that the March 30, 2013 accident involving an Alaska Department of Public Safety helicopter was caused by the pilot’s decision to continue flying into deteriorating weather conditions as well as the department’s “punitive culture and inadequate safety management.”
